He was predeceased by his sister Mary Campisi, older brother Dr. Richard Campisi and twin brother Dr. Dion Campisi. He was the son of Dr. Salvador V. Campisi and Genevieve P. Basile, both second generation Italian Americans. Jon (affectionately referred to as "Nonno") was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who appreciated and enjoyed time with his family.Jon grew up on The Alameda in San Jose and attended St. Leo the Great School and later attended Bellarmine College Preparatory ('59) where he lettered in swimming. Jon and his brother, Dion, had a fond interest in hot rods where they devoted countless hours to restoring their 1932 Ford 5-Window Coupe. Jon attended Santa Clara University ('63) studying finance and, thereafter, furthered his education at Santa Clara University School of Law ('69). Jon became a member of the California State Bar in 1970.Jon was honored and proud of his service to his country as an officer in the United States Army. While attending Santa Clara University, he was a member of the Army ROTC program and upon graduation received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was called to military service in the Vietnam War (1966-67) as a finance officer and was awarded the Bronze Star in 1966 for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces. Upon his return from Vietnam, Jon was stationed at Fort Ord for his remaining six months of service where he would be honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. Jon met the love of his life, Colleen Kelly, while she was working at William Ober's store in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Later that evening, Colleen was having dinner with a friend at the Mission Ranch and saw Jon and Dion having drinks at the bar. Introductions were made and Jon and Colleen ended up having Irish coffee at the Pine Inn after dinner. This was the start of their courtship that would lead to their nuptials at the Carmel Mission Basilica on June 22, 1968, and 55 years of marriage. In 1970, Jon and Colleen purchased their first and only home in the Rose Garden neighborhood.Jon was a talented attorney for over 40 years faithfully servicing his clients with compassion and competence. He was particularly known for his attention to detail and was a perfectionist at heart. Jon specialized in estate planning and some of his closest friendships arose out of his practice while at the Morse Mansion in Santa Clara. Along with his two brothers, Richard and Dion, Jon had a passion for commercial real estate investments. It was a "labor of love" and they enjoyed owning, developing and managing their properties together. The Campisi Ranch in the Central Valley was an investment they put their heart and soul into as they loved spending time together, making many trips with their family. They enjoyed partnering with the farmers and seeing their hard work go from "farm to table." Today the ranch is thriving, and their children continue this legacy. At Campisi Ranch, almonds, tree fruit and a variety of row crop vegetables are grown, packed and shipped both locally and around the world. In 2013, Jon was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. As the disease progressed, Jon spent many meaningful hours at Hearts & Minds Activity Center where he made many new friends. Jon was undeterred by his diagnosis and continued to pursue those activities he so enjoyed like walking the Rose Garden neighborhood, sharing his humorous talent (often making fun of himself), playing golf at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club (MPCC) and attending the Club's many social events with Colleen as well as the countless school and athletic events for his grandchildren. Jon enjoyed spending family quality time in two of his favorite places; Carmel & Tahoe.Jon's Catholic faith was paramount in his life. He was incredibly proud of his Catholic education and, in particular, his combined 11 years of Jesuit education at Bellarmine and Santa Clara. He was a devoted attendee of the 7:00 am Sunday mass at St. Martin's of Tours Parish and was habitual with his daily recital of The Hail Mary's and Lord's Prayer for his 5 grandchildren. As Jon's disease progressed, Jon was cared for by his dedicated healthcare staff (Mark, Jason, Jun, Anderson). In his final days, Jon continued to greet neighbors with a wave of his hand. Colleen was by Jon's side to the end. Her love, care, and devotion to Jon through the good times and the challenging times were an inspiration to the family and those who cared so much for Jon.Jon was an active member of the community: a proud member of the Downtown San Jose Rotary Club for over 40 years, where he was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow and had perfect attendance for 30 of those years. He was also a member of St. Martin's of Tours Parish, Bronco Bench Member, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, The Amici d' Oro, Sons of Sicily, The Pebble Beach and Tennis Club, Board of Fellows of Santa Clara University, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club.
