Dear Pat, I am sorry to hear about Scott. Sensei told me about Scott when I went to see him. I do not have the heart to tell my Son Abraham yet. Abraham used to run into the office looking for Scott.
I am happy to have met Scott in Shodo class and share some time with him.

Dear Pat,
I'm so sorry we were not home to hear of this terrible loss sooner and to be there with you, your daughters, and co-workers at the memorial service on Monday. This is such a shock that I cannot imagine how all of you are dealing with it every day, and I am sure it is an unbearable sorrow. We have all lost a kind and caring man, and there are never enough of them in this world. I'm not sure who needed his sure hands and gentle manner so urgently that they could not wait another day, but hopefully they realize how lucky they are to now have such a wonderful doctor on their staff! Paul and I will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers, and please do not hesitate to include us in anything where we can offer help and support. We will be thinking of you with sadness, but also many fond memories of this exceptional man.

Pat, I was in shock when I found out and my prayers are with you and your daughters. I have been a patient of McBride for 15 years and he was an amazing dentist and a kind and generous soul. He developed a friendship with his patients instantly and he will be greatly missed. We chatted about running and he generously donated to every charity run event that I participated in. I am heartbroken that I will not be there on Monday. I will be in Boston on Monday doing what McBride loved, running the Boston marathon. I will be thinking and praying for him and his family with every step. This one is for you!
