Lynn Aymar Obituary

Lynn Ann Aymar
April 1, 1953 - September 11, 2017
Los Gatos
She could turn the world on with her smile. She could take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile.
Lynn was a mother and a wife. She was BFFs to both her grandchildren. She was a daughter, a sister, aunt, and godmother. She was a friend to so many.
Lynn was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Richard and D'Laine Zea. Ultimately, Lynn would be the third child of seven. The family spent a few more years traveling during Dad's Naval career, before settling in Santa Clara in 1959. Lynn attended Cupertino High and DeAnza College before starting an administrative career at Intel Corporation. Fate struck one lucky day when Lynn met Mike while working within an engineering department. They've been happily married ever since.
Lynn soon left Intel to embark on her self proclaimed career as CEO of the household, raising two daughters, Erin Brooke and Colby Michael. As was typical of Lynn's style, she immersed herself in her daughters' education and after-school activities. Lynn had a natural gift for interior decorating. She enjoyed needlework, scrapbooking and canning jams and pickles. Lynn oversaw the family's charitable foundation, carefully selecting those organizations close to her heart. Lynn and Colby were members of the National Charity League. Lynn was proud to raise monies for various charitable organizations. In 2002, Lynn raised over ten thousand dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by walking a marathon with Erin and her sister Mary. That was no small feat, Lynn having been a Lymphoma survivor herself.
The family traveled the world, including the middle East, Asia, and Europe. This summer, three generations of the Aymars enjoyed a three week trip to Paris, all of Italy, and a Mediterranean cruise. As Disney lovers, the family made a point to visit each park including Paris and Tokyo. Shanghai Disney was next on their list. Lynn loved going to Disneyland every chance she could, calling it "the happiest place on Earth", in the process creating two new generations of Disneyland fanatics.
Lynn is survived by her husband Mike, her daughter Erin and son-in-law Joe Azzolina, daughter Colby Aymar and her grandchildren Brooke and Logan Azzolina. Additional survivors include her mother D'Laine Zea, siblings Jerie and Rob Armentrout, Rick and Colette Zea, Ron and Kim Zea, Mary and Bill Cefalu, Robert Zea and Cathy and Craig Walsh. Lynn is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lynn was preceeded in death by her father Richard Zea, Sr.
A memorial service celebrating Lynn's life will take place on Saturday, September 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara. Reception following.
In lieu of gifts and flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Lynn's memory to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.

I know I am late on here, but I wanted to extend my condolences to the family. I had the pleasure of assisting in Lynn's care with Heart Associates for 6 of her many years here with us. She was my "bling"! Her smile, laugh and amazing personality ALWAYS made my day better. I appreciate the talks we had about marriage, children and life overall. I will miss her beautiful face and her humor here in the office. Mike- she expressed to me in many conversations how much she loved you and appreciated how well you cared for her. I extend my condolences again and will continue to pray for comfort to all the family.

There are some people who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains. Lynn was that person. She will be deeply missed by all who love her and she will live on in our hearts.

I am very sorry to hear of Lynn's passing. I attended school with her at Cupertino High, and at DeAnza Jr. College. I also worked at Monsanto with Lynn. Looking at the attached photo I remember that beaming smile. She was a special person and a true ray of light in a world that can seem very dark at times.

My sincerest condolences to Lynn's family and friends.
