Patricia Eleanor Melehan

Patricia Eleanor (Perrucci) Melehan Aged 80 years. Born July 3, 1929 in San Jose, California, passed away November 20, 2009 in San Jose, California. The oldest daughter of Joseph (JP) and Angelina Perrucci, "Patsy" grew up in a time when the Santa Clara Valley was the "Valley of Heart's Delight". She was proud of her Italian heritage and dedicated to her family. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1947 and attended San Jose State University. Her father founded Mayfair Packing Company in 1933. She considered herself blessed and spent her life giving back to the community by serving and donating to numerous charitable organizations. Her life enriched the lives of so many others. Pat was married to James Stock Melehan (Jim), a WWII Marine veteran and a fourth generation Santa Clara County resident, in 1950 at St. Joseph's Church (now the Cathedral) in San Jose. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Jim passed away in 2000. Pat leaves three sons, James, Joseph, John and a daughter, Maureen Melehan Machado. She also leaves her son-in-law John Machado and daughters-in-law Trish and Celeste. She is survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, her youngest sister Jo'Ann O'Connell, Mary Pimentel and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Her sister, Carmel Vaudagna, predeceased her in 1977. Friends are invited to a visitation to be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at DARLING FISCHER CHAPEL OF THE HILLS, 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos CA (408) 354-7740. A vigil will begin at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church, 219 Bean Ave, Los Gatos, CA. The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Bellarmine College Preparatory, Hope Rehabilitation Services, or Princess Project of Silicon Valley.
