Bob Gardner went home to be with his heavenly Father and his Savior Jesus Christ, on April 11, 2017 at the age of 74.
Bob was born to Robert and Frances Gardner in Ballston Spa, New York on January 31, 1943. He graduated from California Polytechnic College, Pomona in 1966, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering.
During his 50-year career at Semiconductor and EDA Companies, Bob held senior management positions at Signetics/Philips, Intersil, Hamilton/Avnet, AMD, Exemplar Logic, Design Acceleration, Bridges2Silicon, and ITeX. At the time of his death he was President and COO of Missing Link Electronics.
A resident of San Jose, California, Bob Gardner was also active in instrumental music education and performances in Silicon Valley. He was also an avid sailor.
He is survived by his loving wife Monique, son Scott and wife Sarah, daughter Lauree Walker and husband Tim, grandchildren Zoe & Reese Gardner, and Luke & Lily Walker. He is also survived by his brother Chuck Gardner and sister Gayle Gardner.
A memorial service will be held on April 29, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Saratoga Federated Church, 20390 Park Place, Saratoga, CA 95070.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to San Jose Jazz Educational Program at 408-288-7557.

Bob was my boss and my mentor (he hired me fresh out of college and I ended up working for him at 3 different companies). He was my "customer" (he told me I was the most expensive taxi cab driver in town). He was my friend (he always introduced me to other people as "my friend").
One thing I never told him: he was the greatest teacher I'd ever had. Every time I met him, I learned something new.
Sorry for the great loss, Monique. You are in our thoughts and our prayers.
