Ruth Clark Obituary

Ruth Medoff Clark Nov. 12, 1923 - April 22, 2009 Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruth Clark passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the age of 85. The daughter of Samuel and Rose Medoff, Ruth was born in 1923 in San Francisco, CA. She married Alvin Clark on October 16, 1942. She moved to San Jose in late 1968 and was a resident for more than 40 years. In 1999, Ruth was preceded in death by her dear husband of 57 years, Alvin Clark. She is survived by her son Paul Clark and identical twin daughters Diane Clark Hinz and Stacey Clark Ohara; sons-in-law David Hinz and Randy Ohara; and daughter-in-law Nancy Clark. She is also survived by her four cherished grandchildren: Zachary and Ava Hinz, Parker Ohara and Kimberly Clark Valdez; two great grandchildren, Noah Valdez and Joshua Smith. Ruth will be remembered as a dedicated mother who gave up her retirement years to raise her twin daughters who were born to her at the age of 47. As a homemaker for much of her life, she was an amazing cook with numerous signature dishes that she passed on to her daughters. Ruth's love of fashion and all that sparkles is alive and well in her twin daughters and beautiful granddaughter, Ava. Her most treasured hobby was her weekly Mah Jong game and she will be deeply missed by her Mah Jong girlfriends. Ruthie, as she was often called by her family and friends, will be remembered for many things, but most importantly, she will be forever defined as a strong woman who was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and wife. She will be in our hearts forever. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Pathways Hospice and The Forum Health Care Center for the wonderful care they provided to Ruth in her final days.
