Stacy Lomeli/Peterson Obituary

Stacy Lomeli/Peterson
May 22, 1968 - Jan 20, 2014
Resident of West Linn, OR
Dr. Stacy Lomeli/Peterson (1968 - 2014) lived the life of an educator. She lived in Cupertino during her formative years and graduated from Cupertino High School in 1986. A graduate of UCLA (1991) with a bachelor of science in biology, she furthered her education with a doctorate degree in dentistry from UCSF (San Francisco in 1995). Her passion was in the field of dentistry.

After graduation Stacy began her career teaching at UCSF and went onto practice as a general dentist. She ventured into forensic dentistry with additional training at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Bethesda, MD. In 2006 she applied for a position at Oregon Health & Sciences University. At OHSU she became a member of the faculty practice, sat on the Admissions Committee, was an instrumental contributor to the reorganization of the student clinics and was charged with leading a Group Practice of dental students.

Stacy was a member of the West Linn Lutheran church in Oregon. She was baptized on November 17, 2103. Her son PJ followed with his baptism in December.

Stacy was married to Pete Peterson on October 10th, 2004 at the Byington Winery in Los Gatos, California. They moved to West Linn, Oregon in 2006 and gave birth to PJ on February 13th, 2009. She put as much love and commitment into her family as she did in her career. PJ was the light of her life and her greatest accomplishment. Outside of her professional activities, PJ and Pete were her world. Autumn, with all of its fall colors, was her favorite time of year. She often enjoyed the greater outdoors and collecting miniature chairs. A good book and curling up in front of the fireplace with her family on rainy days was her favorite pastime.

She was a caring and loving individual with a carefree smile. In her final days she was surrounded by loving friends and family and will be missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her gentle ways. Stacy is survived by her husband Peter, her son PJ, Dee and Pete Peterson (mother and father in law), Sandra and Joseph Lomeli (mother and father), Brian Lomeli (brother) and Michelle Stroud (sister) and 5 nieces and nephews.

Services beginning at 11:00AM will be held on February 22, 2014 at Bethel Lutheran Church located at 10181 Finch Ave. in Cupertino.
