Daniel John Petersen
Daniel John Petersen, 41, of Mountain Iron, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, after a hard and long fought battle with drug and alcohol addiction resulting in a life ending illness.
Dan was born on February 25, 1982, to Dennis and Shannon (Brokaw) Petersen and was a proud 2000 graduate of MIB where he played baseball and was the goalie for the Virginia/MIB Blue Devils, earning him the nickname of "The Wall". He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends and devoted dog Maggie.
Dan welcomed the birth of his son, Hunter, in 2021. Despite the challenges of Dan's addiction, he cherished Hunter and the time he had with him.
Remaining to cherish Dan's memory are his father, mother, brother Paul (Laura & Maelee), his beautiful 2 year old son, Hunter, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank Miranda and Sarah with Fairview Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
The family will grieve privately, no funeral services are planned.
Arrangements are with the Landmark Funeral Home in Virginia.
