Toni M. (Mueller) Byford
Born: March 28, 1944
Died: September 22, 2025
Toni M. Byford 81, of DeKalb, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born on March 28, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Anthony Mueller and the late Mildred Bethke Mueller. She married Daniel Byford on November 11, 1967.
Toni is a graduate of Taft High School in Chicago. She worked at Teletype in Chicago before marrying Daniel. She worked for the DeKalb School system as food service provider and sold Avon for over 30 years. She also enjoyed bowling and reading. She enjoyed traveling with Daniel. She was active with the DeKalb Elks, Moose, and Lions clubs with Daniel. She was also a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in DeKalb.
Toni is survived by a son Michael (Lisa) Byford of Waterman, IL, a daughter Cindy (Brian) Kozumplik of Sycamore, IL, two grandsons, Zak (Fiancé Rachel Gavin) Kozumplik of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Rik Kozumplik of Sycamore, IL, a sister-in-law, a niece, and a nephew.
She is preceded in death by her husband Daniel in 2023, and her parents.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, from 1:00pm-2:00pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church 511 Russell Road DeKalb. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, at 2:00pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Marty Marks officiating. The burial will be immediately following the service at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Also thank you to the staff at DeKalb County Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.

Cindy, I'm so sorry about your mom's passing. She always had the biggest smile when I visited at the nursing home, and she liked to joke with people, too. Loved her laugh. I hope that good memories of her life with your dad bring you comfort and peace during this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of Toni's passing .
Her and Dan were clients of mine for years and I really enjoyed working with them.
It was always fun to buy Roses from them each year to help the Lions club.
