Wendy Lee Trach Awwad
Our beloved, Wendy Lee Trach Awwad, 62, passed away on August 15, 2024, in Proctor, Minnesota at Diamond Willow after a 4+ year battle with a rare neurologic disease, Corticobasal Degeneration.
Wendy was born on August 31, 1961, to David & Carol Trach in Eveleth, Minnesota. She graduated from high school and attended UMD for 2 years. In 1981 she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota until around 1986. She then embarked for Arizona and California. Around 1990 she moved back to Minneapolis. At that time she was employed by Health Partners as a supervisor in the corporate offices in Membership Accounting. She met and married Emad Awwad and they had two beautiful children, Sami & Clara.
Wendy was creative and had many different interests in life. She loved sewing and making clothing. She frequented antique and vintage shops turning her acquisitions into her very unique and creative, bright style. From sparkly earrings to flashy statement necklaces, she had SWAG (or in old school terms, 'she dressed to the nines'). Wendy loved creative writing and had an interest in writing screenplays. She had a great sense of humor and was quick witted. She also loved singing and did so professionally for a period. Wendy had a special love of people and engaging in conversation. She fit in every room she walked into.
Wendy is survived by her son, Sami and daughter, Clara, father, David Trach, sister, Laurie Santiago and brother, Barry Trach.
She was preceded in death by mother, Carol Trach.
We will miss Wendy dearly. She was a beautiful mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend. We are grateful that she is no longer suffering and in the arms of her mother, grandparents and other loving family & friends that have passed.
Please join us to share good memories, love and most importantly to celebrate the life of Wendy.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Leonidas Village Hall, 201 1st Street North, Eveleth, Minn., from 2-6 p.m. with a brief sermon at 3:00 from Deacon Dan Schultz.

I worked with Wendy at HealthPartners and so sad to see she passed away. What a fun person to be around. Also a helpful person as the supervisor I remember.
