JAMES FORD Obituary
EMMETT - James Richard "Jim" Ford, 71, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 22, 2025. He was a true cowboy, also lovingly known over the years as Papa Nubs, Buddy, Spanky, Beepaw, and Jim-Bob.
Jim was born on August 23, 1954, in Emmett, Idaho, to Frank and Jean Ford. He grew up there, attending school and developing a love for the outdoors that would stay with him throughout his life. In the early 1980s, he attended Oklahoma Farriers School to further his skills.
When Jim was 14 years old, his life was forever changed when Kelly moved in next door. She quickly became the love of his life, and on his 20th birthday, August 23, 1974, the two were married. Together, they shared 51 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and family.
Jim worked many jobs throughout his life-at the mill, the sand plant, guiding hunters, cooking for outfitters, and in various construction roles. Beyond his hard work, he was known for his incredible artistic talent, especially in his wood carvings. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor that could brighten any room. Jim found joy in the mountains, most of all when on horseback, and he cherished nothing more than hearing the sound of his family and friends laughing together. Above all, he had the biggest heart, and he always had a hug ready for everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Ford; his mother, Jean Ford; and his brother, Loren "Skip" Ford.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Kelly Ford; his children Stacey (Jay) Guest and Jamie (Danyel) Ford; and his beloved dog, Rosco. He is also survived by his siblings Sharon (Jack) Blevins, Stella (Ron) Kiser, Kenny (Esmerelda) Ford, Danny (Debbie) Ford, Tamme (Randy) Snyder, and Tony (Ari) Ford.
His legacy lives on through his grandchildren Briana, Shelby, Kaydence, Mariah, Shianne, Mickaela, Abby, and Logan; and his great-grandchildren Landon, Axel, Nevaeh, Bentley,
Kenzlie, Ashton, Karter, Madilynn, Gunner, Bellamy, and Ember. He was also blessed with many bonus grandchildren through those listed above, each of whom he loved as his own.
