Althoug I never met Kaitlyn in person, we were phone contacts and fellow Melanoma fighters. We were both also teachers. I want you to know that I admire Kaitlyn's ongoing passion for her students. In her memory and honor I will be sharing both her obituary, as well as Travis' lovely writing with my students. The world should here of such a heroic woman! My thoughts will be forever with her family, sister, and of course Travis. Words cannot describe the constant battle of the Melanoma patient. However, the grace which Kaitlyn handled her battle was truly inspirational. I will continue to fight this horrible disease with Kaitlyn always in my heart and mind.

Our hearts go out to Kaitlyn's parents. We lost our daughter 10 years ago to ovarian cancer at the age of 24 years. While we never knew Kaitlyn, we do know the pain that comes with the death of your child. God's peace be with you.
