Joyce Evelyn Goines, 80, of Metropolis, passed away at 6:32 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Lunsford officiating. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Joyce was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was very active in church. She would lend a helping hand to anyone in need, friend or stranger. Her cooking and baking are a big part of her legacy, but her heart for people and the Lord are the biggest. Joyce loved playing games and vacationing with family. She accepted anyone and always made people feel loved and included.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Jesse Goines; daughters, Tammy Goines, JoLynda Leek (Curtis), and Christina Hinkle (Travis); son, Aaron Goines (Alicia); grandchildren, Brandon Bowman (Ashley), Chris Bowman (Heather), Kirstan Goines, Bradan Goines, Ryder Goines, Keaten Leek, Kennedy Leek, Avery Hinkle, Eli Hinkle, Cohen Hinkle, Eva Hinkle, Amber Henry (Zac), and Sarah Collins; great grandchildren, Lucas Bowman, Peyton Bowman, Gunner Bowman, Harley Bowman, Lainey Oliver, Nolan Henry, and Oliver Henry; brother, Melvin Green (Marcia); many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Ruth Green; daughter, Pam Goines; sister, Iris Green; brothers, Bill Green, Bob Green, and Larry Green.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Bowman, Chris Bowman, Bradan Goines, Ryder Goines, Keaten Leek, Eli Hinkle, and Cohen Hinkle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lucas Bowman and Gunner Bowman.
