Nathaniel Blake "Nate" Horman, 31 of Metropolis, born on April 12, 1994, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Dunning officiated. Burial followed in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery with military rites.
Nate was of Christian faith and enlisted in the United States Army in the Illinois National Guard. He worked for XPO Logistics in Paducah, Kentucky, and had previously worked for several years as a sergeant at the Kentucky State Penitentiary where he earned a title of hostage negotiator. In his spare time, he enjoyed metal detecting, playing the guitar, riding his motorcycle and hunting arrowheads. He was involved in the movie and music industry, especially in Nashville, appearing in music videos such as, "The Git Up," the movie "Red Notice," and attending the CMAs as a seat filler. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them. Nate had an infectious smile that lit up a room and he is going to be sorely missed by all that knew him.
Nate is survived by his parents, Bruce and Lanna Horman; siblings, Austin Horman, Cami Horman, and Callan Horman (Paige Box); aunts and uncles, Greg and Carol Horman, Mike Horman, Marsha and Carl Burnham and Pam Hubbard; first cousins, Jamie Horman, Ben Horman, Zach Horman, Jake Horman, Stephen Horman, Matthew Horman, Sherie Loverkamp, Tara Tyler, Jennifer Proctor-Edwards, Brandy Gaynor, Mason Riepe, J.D. Riepe, and Megan Riepe; as well as many other cousins and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Alfredia Horman and Eva June and Gerald Riepe; and uncle, Mark Riepe.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the funeral home.
