Geraldine Neustadt Obituary

Geraldine (Gulotta) Neustadt, 63, of Framingham died Sunday, November 20, 2016 at home, ending her long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Queens, NY, Gerry was the daughter of Charles J. and Mary (Kammer) Gulotta. She was said to be a carbon copy of her mother, as they both shared a never-ending love for the world around them. Gerry went to high school in Queens and began working as an Administrative Assistant for Merrill Lynch in NYC right after graduating. She moved to Boston and continued with Merrill for more than 30 years. She finished her career at Morgan Stanley. She was adored by all of her coworkers because she lit up every room she entered. She had a deep love of the water and its peaceful qualities. Most importantly, Gerry lived for her children and loved them unconditionally. She will always be known for her strength and enduringly positive outlook on life. She was a wonderful mother and amazing friend to all who were lucky enough to know and love her. Geraldine is survived by her sons, Maxwell and Jacob Neustadt, both of Framingham; their father, Marc Neustadt, of Ashland; her grandson Jackson Neustadt the joy of her life and his mother Casey Parker, both of Framingham. She is also survived by her siblings, Margarite Carlsen of Southold, NY; Cecelia Gilligan of Huntington, NY; Charles Gulotta and his wife Christine of Bridgeport, CT; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her visiting hours on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 4:00-8:00pm at Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (Corner of Union Ave), Framingham. Checks should be made payable to Brigham and Women's Hospital, Development Office, 116 Huntington Ave. 3rd floor, Boston, MA 02116, please add Geraldine Neustadt in the note field on the check. Gerry was like a second mom to me. I will miss her so much! She was such an important part of all of our lives. She always brought tremendous joy to life and her unconditional love without limits for her children was contagious. She was an incredible role model and I will be forever grateful to her. Her loss is devastating. She will be in my heart forever! xoxo Gerry!

To Jake, Max, and all Gerry's family,

So sorry for your loss! I worked with Gerry for many years at Merrill Lynch, and certainly remember her warm smile and gracious manner. Gerry was a very thoughtful and generous person, often sending gifts out to fellow employees whenever someone was sick, retiring or even having a baby. My daughter Olivia (now 16) still has a monogrammed baby blanket in her room that Gerry was sweet enough to send us when she was born. Gerry always went out of her way to do those "little" things for everyone. In the end, the little things are actually the things that count, and the things we remember. I will miss you Gerry. You made us laugh. Your smile was very bright. Most of all, you brightened the lives of everyone around you. Rest easy my friend.
