We lived on the same street growing up but didn´t start hanging out until Middle School. Scott had a great sense of humor and was always so much fun to be around. On one lazy summer day he re-coined the "E-I-E-I-O" jingle after watching me nearly burn my hand off while playing with zit-zits, plastic, colorful, straw-like attachments that you would put on the spikes of your bicycle tires. Somehow we discovered that if you lit them on fire they would quickly drip small fireballs and make a "zit-zit" sound as they burned. I lit one and a fireball landed on my hand that held the match. I started yelling and shaking my hand screaming what sounded to Scott as "E-I-E-I-O." He mimicked me to great delight to all present and it became his go-to performance for laughs for the rest of the summer. The other fond memory is when our garage caught fire-me again-and he quickly grabbed a garden hose, making a fire engine siren sound, and put out the fire. None of us ever told our parents. Ever. See you soon, my friend. E I E I O.

Scott was a good childhood friend of mine. We met when he was 5 years old. He was the kid from up the street. He introduced me to bottle hunting which his Mom had a huge collection of very old and nice antique bottles. I was fascinated by the hobby.(Last week I found a vintage Civil War bottle and thought of Scott when I made the find.) He encouraged me to play freshman football for the Hudson High School team along with David Lambert. We had fun that Fall. We use to write letters to each other when my family moved to Virginia but eventually have lost touch thru the years. I miss Scott and my memories of our childhood still remains strong in my mind and in my heart. Thank you Scott.

Scooter worked for me for many years at AB. His honesty, integrity, dedication, helpfulness, commitment and expertise defined him as a valued employee, but additionally, and more importantly, his humor, thoughtfulness, selflessness and genuineness defined him as a good man and a good friend. My deepest condolences to his beloved family at their profound loss.

I worked with Scooter at PerSeptive Bio from about 1994-1997. I can say with all sincerity that he was one of the most fun colleagues I have ever worked with. He was fond of playing "telephone" pranks on me - switching the # and * buttons on my phone and using a twist tie to tie the two ends of the phone cord together so when I picked up the handset, the entire phone would come flying at me. To this day, I think that is the funniest thing ever and the first thing I thought of when I heard news of his passing. I can easily hear Scooter's laugh still today and see his warm smile. He was the best of the best and I'm certain that his family and friends will keep wonderful memories of him in their hearts forever. I know I will. And I may just bring some twist ties to work on Monday....and pull a few "phone pranks" in Scooter's honor.
