PIQUA -- Frances L. Proffitt, 86, of Piqua, passed away at 5:52 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, at Koester Pavilion. She was born April 29, 1935, in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late John and Ethel (Havens) Shrader. She married James E. Proffitt who preceded her in death March 1, 1996.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda (Scott Knouff) Williams of Troy; nine grandchildren, Andrew, Steven, Lisa, Cory, Shawn, Jamie, Anthony, Michelle, Chris; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John Proffitt; two daughters, Mary Simon, Joyce Ann Proffitt; a brother, Danny Shrader; and a grandson, Christopher Proffitt.
Mrs. Proffitt was a wonderful homemaker and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A private service to honor her life will be held at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, Inc. P.O. Box 502, Troy, OH 45373.
