TROY — Patty Jean Hall Harper Elson, 79, of Troy, passed away 6:15 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Piqua Manor Nursing Home in Piqua.
She was born in Pike County, Kentucky on October 2, 1934 to the late Benjamin Harrison and Sadie Imel (Fife) Hall.
She was married to William B. Harper who preceded her in death on October 8, 1985. She later was married to Lloyd E. Elson and he preceded her in death on September 27, 2012.
Patty is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Helma and Lester Martin III of Laura; one son, Gary N. Hall of Troy; four step children, Dana Elson of Fletcher, Sheila and Donnie Perkins of Pleasant Hill, Michelle and Dave England of Troy, and Edward and Sabrina Elson of Galion; one step son, Jim and Terri Harper of Strongsville; one step daughter, Francis O'Malley of North Ridgeville; seven grandchildren, Alpha Dawn Hall, Holly Hall Baker, and Abigail Hall Milam, Christopher Martin, Brittany Harper, Courtney Harper, and Brianna Martin; numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step great grandchildren; seven sisters, Bonnie Collins of Georgetown, KY, Ernestene Bentley of Cynthiana, KY, Billie (Garnett) Fryman of Cynthiana, KY, Lillian (Robert) Fisher of Vandalia, Vera Anderson of Mc. Roberts, KY, Diane (Johnny) Pilkenton of Bristol, VA, and Starla Jackson Fleming of Jackhorn, KY; and two brothers, Douglas Hall of Cynthiana, KY, and John L. Hall of Goose Creek, KY.
Patty was also preceded in death by her brother, Hurbert Hall.
Patty was a member of the Tipp City Church of Christ. She was a High School Graduate of Fleming-Neon High School in Fleming, KY. She won the very first Mountain Heritage Golden Girl Pageant Winner in Letcher County, Kentucky. Patty and her late husband, Lloyd, were fans of country music for several years along with being karaoke singers.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Minister Robert Vincent officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher.

So very sorry to lose a good friend like Patty. We loved the music and shared a lot of good times singing. Really liked sharing storys of family and friends. She will be missed by me and I have a hole in my heart because i've lost a good friend . God bless you Patty.
