PIQUA - Phyllis Susan (Susie) Hecker, 83, formerly of Piqua, passed away on February 24, 2025, at The Manor in Sebring, Florida.

She was born November 21, 1941, to the late George and Helen Franz. She married Dean Hecker November 23, 1968. Dean and her sister Marcia Franz preceded her in death.

Susie is survived by three daughters Paula (Kevin) Kaskocsak, Stacy (Scott) Holliday and Amy (Mike) Rankin, six granddaughters Kendall (Joe) Burnett, Brittney (Drew) Meketa, Lily Rankin, Khloe Kaskocsak, Josie Rankin, Cami Rankin and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her partner Robert Combs.

Susie was a 1959 graduate of Piqua Central High School. She was employed by The Miami County Courthouse and enjoyed many volunteer opportunities including her time with The Rehabilitation Center for Neurological Development in Piqua.

Upon retirement Susie and Dean traveled in their RV and eventually settled in Florida. They even worked at Disney and loved taking their grandchildren to The Magic Kingdom.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at The Manor and Vitas Healthcare for their exceptional care and unwavering compassion during Susie's stay. Their kindness, dedication and gentle support brought comfort not only to her but to the entire family. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

As Susie often said, "Have a magical day!"

Susie was our friend at Condo Camping in Lakeview Ohio. Many good times and laughs at The Moose and our patio. Always had a smile for everyone. Our thoughts are with the Hecker family, and our friend Bob.

I lost my mother on January 11, 2025. I feel your pain and sorrow. I didn't know Susie very well however, the fact that she lived in DeSoto mobile home park makes her family. She will be missed.

Susie was a good friend. She always spoke her mind and told you just how she felt. She was a very spunky gal. She will be greatly missed. We loved her.

Our condolences to Susie´s family. We had the privilege to meet Susie three years ago when our paths crossed in Sebring, Fl. So grateful for those years. We enjoyed many fun times sharing our family life, and experiences. Susie was very proud of her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Many of our outings revolved around food when Bob and Jim would cook, and Susie and I would offer input. Susie was a true, and honest person, and not afraid to share her opinions. We always looked forward to our next get-together. Precious time we will cherish. Love, Jim and Sue Griffin
