PIQUA – Tillman S. (Shane) Hilleary, age 72, of Piqua, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018, in his residence. He was born March 6, 1946, in Piqua, OH, to the late Tillman L. and M. Marie "Owen" Hilleary. He married his childhood sweetheart Jean (LeVan) Hilleary June 26, 1965, in Piqua, OH. She survives.
He is also survived by two sons & daughters-in-law: Matthew & Wendy Hilleary, Piqua, Joseph & Melissa Hilleary, Piqua; two brothers & sisters-in-law: George & Kay Hilleary, Decatur, AL, Rodney Max & June Hilleary, Piqua; one sister: Nancy Sampson, Piqua; five grandchildren: Madison Hilleary, Claire Hilleary, Sophie Hilleary, Sean Hilleary, Aaron Hilleary; and one great-grandchild: Amari.
He was preceded in death by three brothers & four sisters: John Hilleary, Charles Hilleary, Robert Hilleary, Ruth Dapore, Shirley Wray, Rita Pennington, and Amelia Hilleary.
Shane attended Piqua City Schools and was a member of Tower of Truth Church. He was employed at ITW in Troy for over 30 years. Shane was very fond of all the employees and his co-workers at ITW. He enjoyed yard work, and fixing things, especially plumbing. Most of all, Shane loved spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, with Pastor Charles Carnes officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. Family will receive friends Thursday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
