I can’t believe it has been a year since we said goodbye to such a wonderful gentleman. I think of him often and remember him in my daily prayers.

I was a classmate of Dick in dental school. We were always next to each other as our last names were alphabetically next to each other. All my memories of dental school working side by side with him are happy and fun. He was a serious student and I admired him as he was not only married while in school but was raising a family. RIP Richard.

Although we didn’t know Richard as well as his many lifelong friends, he was a fixture with his book around the pool in Ft. Myers. He was always a classy gentleman with a quiet demeanour and an understated sense of humour. We’ll miss him down there.

We are extremely saddened to hear of Richard`s passing.

He was a sweet and gentle man. I thoroughly enjoyed our chats while enjoying our Coronado pool time and our get togethers at the Friday night happy hour.

You raised three lovely girls... they are your legacy now.

Dr Sambuchi was an extremely kind and caring dentist. He was also a very friendly person who always had a kind word and wanted to know how you and your family were doing. We truly missed him when he retired from dentistry. Our condolences to your family.

The picture is perfect of your Dad, it is how I will always remember him with such an engaging smile. He was a true gentleman and a scholar and I know you girls are as proud of him as he was of his precious family. There are no words to ease this journey of grief, but great love brings great grief. His faith was a beautiful example for all of us and I know because of it he is now enjoying the eternal light that we are promised. You are in my thoughts and prayers for now and always.

My condolences to all the family! Dick was a total gentleman & respected by all. My biggest memory was when he, Eddy Draves & Mike Cottick paid their respects when my father passed away. It was greatly appreciated. I am sorry to say that I will be unable to attend his memorial service as I will be out of state. Please know that your entire family are in my thoughts & prayers. Sincerely Dee Torres Leonard.

I am a patient whom was extremely thankful to have him as my Dentist. My teeth needed a lot of upkeep from steroids in was given to help breath as an asthmatic. This man capped my front teeth and many others "just so I could smile through my childhood." And, best part is lasted through a good many years of adulthood. Yes, every time I smiled I was thankful for his help! Shine on Doc! Your Family should know how you made a difference in your patient's lives!

Dr Sambuchi was my dentist until he retired from his practice. We shared the same birthday, with a 16 yr. difference and he always remembered. When my husband and drive past his house on the beach near Port Austin I always think of him. What a nice gentleman, he will be missed.

We are so saddened to hear of Rich's passing especially since we are out of the country. He was such a sweet, kind, gentle, caring and thoughtful man. He so loved his family and we know they loved him so very much. We always looked forward to his return to Gulf Harbour for the season and I'll always cherish the time we were in the St. Columbkille choir together. He will be greatly missed. We will keep his dear family in our thoughts and prayers.

My wife Kathleen and I got to know Richard when we moved into the same condo association in Fort Myers. He loved to grill pork tenderloin on the driveway with a glass of red wine and we often joined him in grilling or just enjoying the company. We shared a love of cooking and each of us would often host a dinner at his home or ours. We missed him during the summer when he returned to be up north and always looked forward to his return. His friendship will be missed by us. Our condolences to the Sambuchi family over this loss.

Dick and I were stationed at Port Austin Air Force Station twice. We went together to Computerized Interceptor Control School at Tyndall Air Force Base. We spent hours together controlling interceptors. After that he spent hours in my mouth constructing my new smile and dental maintenance.
Which one had the higher rank was always humerus. Dick was a Great Guy.

Condolences to the family!
He was my very first , at the age of 22! I was so scared to get a gold crown, but he made it a breeze! Never going to find a great, caring, honest dentist like him, until we go to Heaven!
