James Francis Kelly of Cromwell, CT passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 in Middlesex Hospice after a long illness. James was born on February 19, 1959 in Hartford, CT. The beloved son of Alice and the late Thomas Kelly of Cromwell. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Alice; his beloved friend Raquel Solomon; his brother and sister-in-law Daniel and Donna Kelly; his sister and brother-in-law Mary and Richard Brown; and his aunt/godmother, Maureen Longo. His nephews and nieces: Joshua Kelly, Justin Kelly; Jessica Zeng (her husband Kent, son Zachary), Caitlin Charest (her husband Kevin) and Jordyn Brown. His first cousins, Susan Jordan (her husband Charles) and David Longo (his wife Debbie). James was predeceased by his beloved uncle, Michael Longo.
James graduated from Xavier High School and attended both the University of Connecticut and Northeastern University. He worked at Northeast Utilities/ Eversource until his retirement in 2018. James was a passionate fan of the New York Yankees and the New England Patriots. He also loved Broadway attending many performances both in New York and at The Bushnell. In accordance with his wishes, there will only be a private family burial this month with a celebration of James' life to be scheduled later in the spring. James' mother and family appreciated the wonderful care and compassion given to him over the years by the Cromwell Fire and EMS personnel responding to the calls for assistance. They are also very appreciative of the care provided during his short stay within Hospice at Middlesex Hospital.
