I remember waiting for Roland at Ft Devens to take him off base for a home cooked meal. Instead of being drafted in the army, he joined the Marines. Barbara & I were so surprised.
What a great guy.

He inspired excellence in both teachers and students and fostered a special comraderie among us.Even now, 50 years later, his guidance effects me in aiding students to succeed with their learning. Roland will be missed, his shoes are not easily filled.
