My deepest condolences to all of you, Kathy, Barabara, Cindy and Ginnie, for your mom. Many decades ago, your mom was the 4-H leader where I learned how to sew and cook. Our first cooking project was "Apple Nobby Cake." What I didn't eat of the raw batter went in the oven to take home! Sewing I remember was a challenge! Those zippers and bottom holes, frustrating without the help of your mom, an apron, then an A-line shift dress to be modeled at a fashion show in Middletown.
Your grandmother lived next door at the time and we also did ceramic projects. I remember making three beautiful angels for my mother, Beverly Merk, for Christmas one year. Your mother painted the eyes...and another time I remember having a contest of some kind: I do not remember specifically. We may have been hunting for Easter eggs filled with candy and chocolates. It was near Easter. The prize was this beautifully painted bigger than life-size ceramic bunny! Kathy won the Easter bunny. Your mom was always so much fun. I spent many visits at your home when I was in grade school, (Central and then Gildersleeve Schools) and have many warm memories of all of you, except Ginnie? I think I was in high school or college by the time Ginnie was born. My thoughts are with you. I regret having missed your celebration and services for your Mom. Will be sending a donation to American Diabetes Association. Love and hugs to every one of you! Lynn

To all of Shirley´s girls Joe and I send our deepest sympathy on your Mom´s passing. I have fond memories of family picnic and gatherings years back. She always greeted me with that beautiful smile whenever I ran into her around town, and always asking about family.
May your many wonderful memories bring you peace.
