hello, just wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss. We knew Steve when he was an usher at MBC. My daughter Rachel was a friend of Amanda's. Steve and Jacque took us salamander hunting in the dark in the bog one spring. So sorry I didn't have a chance to see him before he left...

One of the best story tellers I've ever met. I would request that Steve tell me one of his favorite tales and he would always deliver with the same precise detail and emotion. Incredible recall! I feel as though I was there with him as these adventures unfolded. Working with Steve in Cheshire is one of the highlights of my 33 years at Pratt. So much fun and such a hardworking and loyal friend. I'll miss you forever buddy!

So happy to have spoken to Steve in the hospital last week. He expressed his thankfulness to God to give him a little more time to let his family know that he loved them. He also shared his great confidence in knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. The best has come to Steve now.

Pam, family, and friends of Steve, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. Steve was such an awesome guy! I worked side by side with Steve on the 4000 teardown engine assembly line for many years! We had so many laughs together, and a lot of fun on the engine line. Steve was such a hard worker and was always willing to help out others. He had a huge heart and was always happy! Steve you will be missed dearly! Rest in peace my friend!!!

Pam & Bennett Family, so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. When I first heard Steve was ill 1 wanted to get in touch, but then I saw where he said the doctors gave him 6 months to a year, I thought I'd be able to get back to Connecticut and see him again. Now it's to late. Steve and I became friends back in 1980, when we worked together at Middletown Pratt in Bldg. 10. We worked second shift and after work would stop in at Raffala's for a few cold ones. Once after work, Steve suggested we head to Sound View. Who knew they close after the summer season? Anyways, we had fun getting there. Steve was the only person I knew that knew all the words to Alice's Restaurant, other than Arlo Guthrie. We both were laid off and we didn't see each other after that until one night, we ran into each other at the Penny Corner Pub. I remember he came up and said, "Hey, Pie Man. How you doing?" Haven't seen him for a long time, I gave him a brotherly hug. We had a few drinks, shot the breeze. Then years later, I saw Steve at Middletown Pratt in Bldg. 220. Steve was a welder in a department near where I worked. He asked me, "What's new Pie Man?" Well, being married just 2 weeks earlier I showed him my wedding band. Told him my wife Rachelle and I got married in Florida. Told him how we stayed at Rachelle's Aunt Vera's motel on the beach. She really wasn't Rachelle's Aunt, but when she was growing up, everyone in the neighbourhood was Uncle this and Aunt that. Funny thing is Steve says, "I have an Aunt Vera that has a place in Florida." I told Steve, "Rachelle's Aunt is Vera Coleman." Steve says, "That's not her Aunt, that's my Aunt!!!!" We both decided, it was a small world after all. We'd see each other in shop, stop and BS a little, until he was transferred to East Hartford. Then years later, we met up again in Cheshire. Steve hadn't changed much, still joking around. When I celebrated my 30th year with the company, I made sure Steve was there, because we had been friend since the 80's. I just want to say, Steve, I'll never forget you, although we weren't as tight as we were back in the beginning, you were and will be my friend forever, just wish I had one more chance to see you.
