Jeffrey A. Gum, 59, of Genoa died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 23, 1956 in Aurora. The son of Gerald and Delores (Tudy) Gum. He married Debra McIntyre on September 24, 1983. He was a graduate of the Genoa Kingston High School and a veteran of the U.S. AirForce.
Jeff worked for IHC Construction for 30 years and retired in 2007. He loved hiking, fishing, golf and was a loyal Chicago Bears fan.
Survivors include his wife, Debra; his parents, Gerald and Tudy; his children, Somer (Mario), Kristy (Phil), Ali, Sandy(Tom) and Jeff (Beth); seven grandchildren, Riley, Peyton, Reagan, Harper, Brynn, Beau and Blake; two sisters, Lorene (Brad) and Vanessa (Jim); one brother, Rich (Lissa); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca.
His Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 24th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 33930 N. State Road, Genoa, with Rev. Jeremy Heilman officiating. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM at the Church. Please dress casual or in Chicago Bear apparel.
A Memorial has been established for Jeff's family in care of the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main, Genoa, IL 60135.
