Roger Warren Vreeman

1946 - 2026

Roger Warren Vreeman, 79, of Byron passed away peacefully on
February 14, 2026 at home. Roger was born August 3, 1946 in Preston to Warren & Ruth Vreeman.

In 1966 he served two years in the US Army, one of which was in Vietnam. He was proud to be a Veteran.

Roger began his career at Ace Truck as a diesel mechanic and then as a mechanic for the City of Rochester, at the Water Reclamation Plant, for 31 years.

On June 12, 1971 he was united in marriage to Jane Walker, together they were blessed with two daughters. He spent many hours in the yard throwing the softball around with his girls, and was always present at games.

In 1987 they bought a cabin on Lake Mazaska, near Faribault, where they spent every weekend with family & friends. Countless hours were spent in the boat, pulling skiers and tubers.

Roger enjoyed bowling for many years at Colonial Lanes in Rochester. He also enjoyed deer hunting with family on their land in Forestville, MN.

He could often be found perched on his stool in the garage, enjoying a Busch Lite while listening to the radio. But most of all he enjoyed time spent with his family. He will truly be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Jane, of 54 years, daughters, Beth(Craig)Whalen of Lyle, MN, Amy(Matt Flynn) Vreeman of Eau Claire, WI. Grandchildren, Caleb(Emy)Whalen of Owatonna, MN and Courtney(Skyler)Thomas of Lyle, MN. Four great-grandchildren, Nolan & Autumn Whalen and Zoey & Karsyn Thomas. Two brothers, Wallace(Maureen) and Wendell of Rochester. One sister, Karen Egorenko of Stewartville. One brother in law, Brian(Mary Beth Boomgaarden)Walker of Mantorville, one sister in law, Dianna Walker of Thomasville, NC and several nieces and nephews .

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Keith and brother in law, Charles Walker, Jr.

Celebration of Life will be Saturday,
