Terry Allan Vreeman was born on July 7, 1957, in Willmar, MN to Clayton and Inez (Zimmer) Vreeman. He grew up in Clara City, and graduated as the valedictorian at Clara City High in 1975, despite only occasionally attending class his senior year. Terry first met his wife, Laurie, in the 5th grade and began teasing her shortly thereafter. Eventually they began dating and were married September 10, 1976, at Bethany Reformed Church. To this union they were blessed with four beautiful daughters.
Terry purchased his first tile truck in 1976 and a few years later joined his dad, Clayton in Vreeman Construction. This began a lifelong career and deep love for the company, employees, and the farming community. A decade later his brothers, Joel and Nathan became partners with him in the family business.
Terry's life's motto was "Work hard, play hard." His hobbies included tinkering in his shop, playing golf, the favorite boat driver for all his kids and grandkids, traveling, and taking bike rides, walks, nightly swims and hot tubs with Laurie.
Terry loved family he was passionate about spending time with his family whether it was out on the lake, at the beach, snowmobiling in the mountains, or sitting in the bleachers watching his children and grandchildren compete in their sports across the country.
He loved singing passionately about Jesus in both the Messengers for 16 years and also in Candlelighters. Terry resonated the love of Jesus with his warmth, his smile, his infectious laugh, and his thoughtful conversations. He was a natural leader, serving on boards at Bethany, and CMCS Foundation, President of the Land Improvement Contractor Association, and Workmen's Comp Board.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie; four children, Stephanie (and Peter) Sulack and their four sons and two daughters-in-law of Knoxville, TN, Stacie (and James) Williams and their three children of Knoxville, TN, Kelli (and Justin) Schnichels and their five children of Willmar, MN, and Kresson (and Patrick) Wiercioch and their four children of Kelowna, Canada. Also surviving are his two siblings, Rhonda (and Dan) Freiborg of Spicer, and Nathan (and Wendi) Vreeman of Willmar; sister-in-law, Sheri Vreeman of Nashville, TN; and three sisters-in-law, Tambrance (and Thom) Huisinga of Spicer, Dorothy (and Don) Huisinga of Willmar, and Brenda (and John) Fedor of Randall, MN; parents-in-law Dale & Ainez Hayunga of St. Cloud; and step-mother, Elaine Vreeman of Arizona; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joel; and his son-in-law, Jon Schroeder.
