Priscilla Lowman Obituary

Baadwewidamookwe, Priscilla Lowman, Age 81, passed away on August 13, 2025. Visitation held at 8 PM on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Baadwewidang District 1 Community Center on the Mille Lacs Reservation. A Funeral Ceremony held at 10 AM on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Baadwewidang District 1 Community Center on the Mille Lacs Reservation with Nazhike officiating. Interment will be in the Vineland Burial Grounds. Arrangements are with the LeMieur Funeral Home in Onamia.

Priscilla was born on January 30, 1944, to Helen (Skinaway) and George Nickaboine. She graduated from Onamia High School in 1962. Priscilla lived in Minneapolis most of her life. She was united in marriage to Jim Lowman in September of 1979. Priscilla was a first-generation Ojibwe language speaker and a Midewiwin Member. She loved being a mother & grandmother having raised many of her grandchildren. Priscilla enjoyed traveling, especially her bucket list visits to Graceland and Hawaii.

She is survived by her daughters, Isabelle (John) Wind and Vivian (Marty) Kegg; grandson, Jared Smith; and many other grandchildren & great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Nickaboine; and her cat, Buddy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Lowman; children, Michael Smith Jr., Jaylene Lowman, James "Bo" Lowman, Jr.; parents, Helen (Skinaway) and George Nickaboine; sisters, Gloria and Georgia Nickaboine; brother, Roger Dorr.
