Scott Schweitz Obituary

Scott Allen Oscarson Schweitz

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Scott Allen Oscarson Schweitz, 53, a devoted servant of Christ. Scott entered into the presence of the Lord on January 9, 2024, in his hometown of Missoula, MT. Born to Don Oscarson and Kathy Schweitz on September 19, 1970, in Billings, MT, Scott was raised by Alan and Kathy Schweitz in Missoula. Scott was a cherished member of the Missoula community for 53 years.

Scott attended Target Range Grade School where he discovered his insatiable passion for soccer. He played for the Missoula Strikers Association and, as an adult, was recruited to play soccer professionally overseas. He graduated from Big Sky High School in 1988.

Scott's life was one of active engagement with the world around him. He was an outdoor enthusiast, often found fishing, camping, and panning for gold. Indoors, he was an avid video game player often playing remotely with his nephew in Colorado. He also was a self-declared champion of foosball and loved playing poker and Magic with his friends. Professionally, Scott was an experienced massage therapist who was sought out for his strength and nurturing nature.

In times of joy or sorrow, Scott was a pillar of strength and a source of comfort. A devout Christian, Scott's wisdom and guidance of scripture were sought by many, and he graciously shared his knowledge of the Lord, leaving an enduring impact on the many lives he touched.

Family and friends will forever treasure the countless memories of Scott's laughter and love which were a pillar of strength, offering support and understanding to those in need. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives were enriched by his presence.

Scott is survived by his wife, Heather Schweitz; his beloved furry son, Griffin Scott Schweitz and Eden Leigh Schweitz, a feline. He is also survived by his father and mother, Alan and Kathy Schweitz; stepmother, Becky Burton; sisters, Misty Burks (Frank), Val Uranga (Mike), Jenn Kapp (Mike); nephew, Dylan; brother, Jay Schweitz (Julie), and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service to honor and remember Scott will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sovereign Hope in Missoula. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Scott's memory to Sovereign Hope Church at https://sovhope.churchcenter.com/giving ; please use the dropdown menu to select "Memorials".

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to be a source of strength and inspiration for us all.
