James Dunn Obituary

HENDERSONVILLE – James Richard Dunn, 83, of Hendersonville, NC passed away following a brief illness on September 15, 2023, at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum, SC.
James was born in Johnson City, TN to the late Clero Clinton Dunn and Addie Jane Buchanan. He was the youngest of nine children.
James received his master's degree in environmental science from ETSU. James worked in logistics for K-T Feldspar Corporation (originally Lawson United) from 1976 until his retirement in 1999.
His favorite past times were playing softball in his younger years, playing golf and gardening.
A beloved husband, father and papaw left to cherish his memories are his wife of sixty years, Marcia Lawson Dunn; two sons Chris Dunn (Amy) of Matthews, NC, Todd Dunn of Hendersonville, NC, one daughter Kellee Klovach (Raymond) of Mill Spring, NC, one sister Irene Jordan of Johnson City, TN, his best friend and oldest living grandson, Zak Bennett of Mill Spring, NC, grandsons Tyler Dunn of Hickory, NC, Nathan and Joshua Dunn of Matthews, NC, one step granddaughter Lilly Klovach, several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters- in -law; and many friends. James was preceded in death by his precious oldest grandson, Chase Bennett.
He will be greatly missed by his furry companion, Bo.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
