Kenneth Hollifield Obituary
Ken was the son of the late Raleigh and Nadine Burnette Hollifield of Little Switzerland, NC. Born on March 24, 1945, he was the eldest of five children. He was a 1963 graduate of Harris High School and he proudly served his country in the US Army as part of the 101st Airborne Division.
Ken loved spending time with his family and took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed being outdoors in his garden, fishing, hunting, and had a love for horses. His greatest roles in life were that of loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member and pastor of Green Valley Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of fifty-six years, Sharon Wiseman Hollifield; his children; Jonathan and wife, Stephanie; Brandon and wife, Misty and Andrea and husband, Chris all of Spruce Pine. Ken will be fondly remembered by his eight grandchildren; Brittany, Autumn and husband, Cory, Mason, Shea, Cassidy, Dalton, Chanlee, and Landrie; four great grandchildren; Ty, Brooklyn, Rider, and Nolan; his brothers; Jerry and late wife, Carol of China Grove, NC; and Danny and wife, Betty of Little Switzerland, NC; his sisters; Nancy and husband, Jerry of Spruce Pine, NC and Brenda and husband, Mike of Little Switzerland, NC. He had numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family to treasure his memory.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlee Cemetery
The family would like to extend a 'special thank you' to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge.
