Alan Anson Obituary

Alan Dale Anson was born on July 1, 1943 in San Francisco, California and passed away on September 16, 2018. He grew up and lived in Merced County all of his life. He attended grammar school in Delhi and Livingston High School.
Alan worked as a truck driver for Foster Farms for 34 years and retired in 1994. Shortly after his retirement, he bought his own truck and became an owner operator. Alan worked locally hauling ag products and fertilizer to area farms and ranches.
Alan married Patricia McDaniel on April 4, 1964 in Turlock, California. Alan and Pat were married for 54 years and resided in Delhi during that entire time.
Alan enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, horseback riding, camping and collecting antique farm equipment and wagons. One of Alan's favorite projects was restoring a 1965 Peterbilt that he would travel with on an annual trip to Quartsite, Arizona. He also spent a lot of time camping and riding horses and mules in the back country of Kennedy Meadows.
Alan is survived by his wife of 54 years Patricia; sons Eric (Elizabeth) Anson of Patterson and Duane Anson of Delhi, his loving grandchildren Lauren, Jake and Spencer. He is also survived by his siblings Edward Anson, Florence Grainger, Marion Anson, Sandra Reiswig, Carol Hancock, Dennis Anson, Karen Anson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Golda Anson and brothers Gerald Anson and James Anson.
