March 7, 1936 - May 14, 2012
Arlene Darling, age 76, of Foster City passed peacefully at home on May 14, 2012.She was born in Oakland, CA to Edward and Gwendolyn Hoerst.  She attended Castlemont High School.  Arlene married Robert Darling in 1958 and she was employed with the Pacific Telesis Group as an Executive Compensation Manager and Executive Secretary.  She retired with 36 years of service.  Arlene is survived by her husband of 54 years and daughters, Susan (Jeff) and Dawn, grandchildren; Erin, Brandon, Andy (Rene), Symonie, Matthew and David, along with five great grandchildren and she was preceded in death by her sister Marilyn (Chuck).  She has two nephews - Michael and Larry and three nieces - Debbie, Rhonda and Robin.  Arlene was a gracious lady and loved her family dearly and will truly be missed.  Arlene was involved in her community and volunteered as an Election Judge and was very involved with CERT and participated in their many events.  Arlene was instrumental in the formation of the Foster City Amateur Radio Emergency Service.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Non-profit organization for FCARES, Inc., P.O. Box 4717, Foster City, CA  94404.  Memorial Service is pending.

My family sends their condolences. Arlene was such a sweet lady and an awesome neighbor. I will sure miss seeing her over my fence and when I take my dog for a walk.
