Bob was born in Oklahoma to Sam and Carrie Britton and passed away at the age of 77 in Modesto. Bob served in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960. He worked for Sears and Robuck Company for 20 years as a warehouseman in the 1960s and 70s, Memorial Medical Center during the 80s and 90s, and later worked for the Stanislaus County Ag Commissioners Office. Bob earned his Associates Degree from Modesto Junior College and Diploma of Theology from Golden Gate Seminary. He was an interim pastor for several churches in the central valley from 1965-2001. Bob was very active in his church, First Southern Baptist Church in Waterford.
He is survived by his wife Lillian "Lynn" Briton; children Susan (Fred) Omlin, Brian (Anjanette) Briton and Deborah (Kevin) Voss; brother Ben Britton; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Dept. 142, P.O. Box 1000, Memphis, Tenn 38148, Memorial ID#10972427.
Memorial service will be held at First Southern Baptist Church in Waterford on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11:00a.m. Private interment was held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery. Please share your memories and condolences at
