On April 28, 2014, Carl Herman Hoglund, from Ceres, CA, passed away unexpectedly from heart failure. He was 78.
Carl was born on June 15, 1935 in Turlock, CA. After graduating high school, Carl went on to serve in the military. Dedicated to hard work, Carl was employed by Gallo Glass for 28 years, before retiring to spend time with his family and friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents Conrad and Myrtle Hoglund, grandson Ricky Dale Conway, as well as three sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his wife Juanita Hoglund, brother Billy Bunting of Missouri, sister Barbara Morris,  daughters Terri Conway and Pam Wettgen, grandson Jason Allen Conway, granddaughters  Julia Wettgen and Carly Wettgen, all from Modesto, son David Hoglund and dear friend Mike Hamilton of Ceres.
Carl was a good man, a loving husband, a dedicated father and a caring grandfather. His zest for life will truly be missed by all that had the good fortune to know him.
A viewing will be held May 7, 2014 from 5pm - 8pm at Eaton Mortuary in Modesto. Graveside service will be held on May 8, 2014 at 12:30pm at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Santa Nella.
