I went to the "Q Course" with Chad. I was in a different unit on Ft. Bragg but ran into Chad a few times around town. I only saw that he was killed a few years ago and it made me remember him and what a fun time we had together. He and i were on the same team during "Robin Sage".. that whole team had a great time. I'm sorry for your loss and i am sorry i didn't know him better.

Dear Chad, As another Memorial Day approaches, I assure you that you are not forgotten. There will be a fresh new sign out by the road stating Freedom isn't Free along with your name, Edwins, Clintons and Albertos names. I still find this almost impossible to believe. I know you said that if anything ever happened to you to just be proud. And I am, son, truly proud of you and always will be. I just miss you so much. You are thought of each and every day. I wish I could have a face to face talk with you again and get another hug and hear you say "I love you too, mom" but I guess that will have to wait until my day comes. I love you forever and always. Keep watching over those 3 little boys babe!
I'm sending you a huge hug!

Chad,
I was with you on 13 February, 2006. We had just had breakfast together prior to embarking on this - your last patrol - to assist another Special Forces ODA in a tough situation. I was among the last to see you before we sent you home for the last time. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you, or SSG Newman, or "Daza", or Montrond. The events of that day are recorded in my memory for ever and I remember every minute of that 7 and half hour fight like it was yesterday. Last 13 February anniversary, I was deployed and I cried my eyes out for you guys for the first time since this all happened. But, I will never really let it go. You volunteered to go on the "point" vehicle that day because you were always an SF Warrior. I'll never forget you. Your brother in arms,
Sincerely,
An SF Soldier...

Chad,
I was thinking of you this past Memorial Day weekend and went through a wide range of emotions. Most thoughts brought a smile and a chuckle, some were very nostalgic, and all were fond. Thank you for being a great person, i value your friendship and mentorship and will never forget anything you have taught me. Take care, I miss you brother. Till we meet again...

Dear Chad,
Today is Memorial Day, 2008. Dad and I put up new flags outside in your honor as well as for all of America's hero's that are with you today. There is a new sign in the driveway that states "Freedom isn't Free" along with your name, Edwin, Clinton and Alberto. This is to honor the four of you that entered heaven's gates together and to remind every driver that freedom comes with a huge cost. I watched the video tribute again that Julie put together for you and cried again as I do so often. Your untimely loss has left such a void in my heart that will only be filled when that day comes that I get to embrace you once again. I treasure every memory and our last Christmas spent together. We all miss you so much. Your brother is taking great care of your number one toy, your Chevy truck. You would be proud of him. He never forgets to honor you, son. He flies the American Flag in the back of your truck on special days in memory of you. Your 3 little boys are growing like weeds and Julie keeps your memory alive showing them videos of you. They laugh when a bad word you uttered got caught on tape and remark "Daddy said a bad word mommie....did you or Grandma wash his mouth out with soap?" Julie misses you deeply. There isn't a single day that goes by that you are not thought of by all of us. You brought the greatest honor and pride to us all and I thank God so much that He gave your Dad and I the two best sons to raise that any parent could ever ask for. Until we meet again I will close by saying thank you to you, son, for the person you grew up to be and the service that you gave to your country so that American's could be free. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!
With unconditional and undying love,
Mom

I deployed with Chad to Colombia in 2005; he served in FARC infested Arauca department. Chad was a great soldier… humble, not the typical Type “A” so unique of most ODAs… a quiet professional. Chad: Mission Accomplished… you and those who were with you that day (Alberto, Edwin, and Clinton) will never be forgotten. De Opresso Liber.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

We would like to thank Chad and his family for his service and dedication to his profession and his country. We know that freedom is not free for we have lost a soldier too. On January 22,2007 Spec. Nicholas P. Brown was killed by an IED in Iraq. He left behind a young wife and a newborn son. Nick loved being a soldier and did everything he could to learn more about his position. He loved working with the professionals who could push him in the right direction. We are so sorry for your loss. We know that your soldier was in a class by himself. Thank you for sharing a Moving Tribute of Chad, it brings a bigger picture of him to us. Please accept our prayers during this time of year when we salute our veterans. Without them there would have been no United States. Thank you,

Once again, we are all forced to reflect on what kind of people we are, as individuals, as opposed to what kind of people we should be, to be worthy of such sacrifice on the part of people like Chad and his family. I know I could do better than I have. May God bless you all.
