Conrad (Bud) was born to Conrad and Billie Smith in East Tawas, Michigan, where his father was in the Air Force. While still an infant we returned home to Merced County. As a youth he played little league baseball, was in scouts and delivered newspapers. He attended Weaver Elementary and graduated from Atwater High School where he played drums in the marching band and the Jazz band. He worked at Foster Farms and later moved to Bremerton, Wa to work maintence on the Naval Ships with AMFC. After the Iraq war started he was sent to Japan until the Navy moved the maintence to San Diego and he was laid off. His favorite ship was the USS Carl Vinson which was used for the Bin Laden burial at sea. He moved to Oregon and worked for Lowes Shipping Center. He loved movies and had an extensive collection. He leaves to mourn, his son Conrad Jake (Leslie) Smith of Hollister, his mother, Billie Taylor, sisters Della Smith, Denise Smith, brothers Brad Smith and Allen Smith, all of Modesto. Also half siblings Melissa, Melinda, Michelle, Amanda and Mica Smith of Oregon. He is preceded in death by his father, Conrad Walker Smith and brother-in-law Michael Yocum.
A Celebration of Life is planned for August 27 at 10am at Winton Cemetery, Almond Avenue, Winton, Ca followed by a no host lunch at Brooks Ranch on Belluve in Atwater, Ca.
