Daniel and I are deeply saddened, to know we could not be there. We were devasted by the news. Daniel was named after his grandpa and loved him deeply, as did I. Dear Dad. . .Happy 4th of July!
We had alot of fun times on the 3rd of July, you would take us, Grandma, your neighbors, Ron & Donna, your friends Rayelene & husband and John Kanno. You would take us on the RV to the Modesto Nuts, Stockton Ports & even the Sacramento Baseball games. We had a good dinner in the RV, enjoyed the game then the Fireworks with desserts to follow in the RV with grat laughs. I bet Nathan would have especially loved sitting on Grandpa's lap & enjoyed watching the Fireworks. This year we missed it. But, you were in our hearts when we saw Fireworks and we said "there's Grandpa up there looking at the Fireworks with us."

Dan and Elsie Lee were always my favorites in my Mom's family. We always had the best times when they came to visit us in West Virginia and Dan always had a few good "hillbilly" jokes for us.
I spent the second night of my honeymoon on the sofa bed in their living room. I still remember Sharon getting up before anyone else and making her own cereal and watching cartoons.
Dan will always have a special place in my heart. All my love and sympathy to "Elsie" Lee and all of Dan's children, grandchildren, other family and friends. I would love to see all of you.

I meet Dan 22 years ago when i came to work at WILLE ELECTRIC SUPPLY COMPANY.

You taught me the meaning of class and grace. For all the bluster, you were always a sincere, caring gentleman.
Your family always came first, and although you liked to act tough when it came to your Leah, we always knew who had the upper hand.
I always enjoyed travelling with you, fishing with you, and falling asleep in your living room watching old movies.

Dan was a true gentleman and loved people, especially his family who he spoke of often. He made us all feel good and when you were around him you knew you were going to smile and laugh. If the love and affection we recieve from others is a sign of wealth there is no doubt Dan died a very rich man.

I met Dan through John Kanno about 10 yrs. ago, When he made sale calls (if that's what you want to call it). He called on our plant for the past 25 plus year. He's always had stories to tell, & made jokes about everything. He was a person everyone enjoyed being around & a person who help in any way he could. He was a good friend & will truly be miss.

I got a call from my mom today saying that Dan had passed. I was good friends during grade school with Dan's son Jeff; and the Ehlings were our neighbors and my good friends. Dan was like a second father to me. He taught me how to fish, water ski, hunt, ride motorcycles, and most of all, how to have fun and enjoy the great outdoors. Stories and laughter are my most fond memories and I only wish I could have visited him in recent years. My deepest condolences and prayers go to Lee, Jeff, Sharon, Ron, and John; all of whom I was close with growing up. Dan will be missed greatly!

Dan was one of the best men I have ever met. We became good friends after his weekly calls to my job, in fact we went to lunch every Thursday for the last 27 years and 25 were at the same place. Thursday lunches were always good for a story. It wasn't just work he was a family friend to me. dan was always there to lend a helping hand.

I'm sure going to miss that dry humor and the anxious look on his face because he just couldn't wait to tell his latest joke. The emails were great too - "It's Always Something..." He was one of the most sincere, genuine people I have met and I am proud to say that he was my friend - who I will dearly miss. He spoke affectionately of his wife and kids and my heart goes out to them for their enormous loss.
