It is with sadness and regret that we must announce the passing of a great man, husband, father, grandfather and coach. He wil be deeply Missed by all.
Dan was born & raised in Brooklyn, NY, and he served his country with the Army from Dec 1965-Dec 1967. He has been an Oakdale, CA resident for almost ten years. Dan had a great love for his family, friends, and of course the Jets and Mets. Although his life ended shorter than anyone had hoped, he led a full life and experienced and accomplished more than he could have imagined. Now he moves on to the ultimate skybox to give his Jets the divine help they desperately need.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Cynthia of 46 years, his children Daniel (Robin), Derrick (Carla) and Dawn (Joshua), his grandchildren Christian, Meghan and Luke, and his two sisters Valerie and Helen (Dave)
A viewing will be held Tuesday July 2nd, from 5 - 8 PM at Oakdale memorial chapel 830 West F Street Oakdale.
A mass will be held at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Oakdale, Wednesday July 3rd at 2 PM

I didn't know him well.... he was a great friend to my father. They grew up in Brooklyn, found their way to California and remained friends for over 50 years. My dad never spoke an unkind word about him. They had love for each other as only best friends understand. He will be missed. I'm so sad to hear of his passing yet relieved to know he's free of pain. RIP Danny Pettit, you were a good man.
