I just found out of Dave's passing today. I can tell you that he had a profound impact on my life. I teach geography and economic history at Modesto Junior College, and Dave took every class that I taught. He was a passionate learner and challenged students in each class to engage, participate in discussion, and invest in their own lives!! He was a force to facilitate in class discussions, yet classes seemed so quiet after he left. I was very proud of his accomplishments in the City Council. His work ethic and integrity were traits that inspired me. I am so sorry for his untimely death...I sincerely thought that he would be working for a better Modesto well into his 90s. I will keep you all in my prayers.

I am so very sorry. I just found out about Dave's passing. We went to school together many years ago and were really good friends. I ran into him at the Bluefish Festival in Clinton CT. quite a few years after graduation. He was a wonderful person. I am so very sorry for your loss.

A very kind and gentle soul, Dave genuinely cared about people. He attended as many events and functions as he could and he listened to what people had to say. You couldn't ask to have a better man as a public servant and other electeds should aspire to his example. The City of Modesto and his district were truly blessed to have Dave as their councilman.

My deepest sympathies and prayers to his family. May our Good Lord ease your heartbreak and the emptiness his passing leaves. Know that he is always with you and we are all better people for knowing him.

I worked with Dave at LLNL Site 300. His wife Patty babysat my son Matthew whenhe was a baby. Dave was always kind and was very well liked by all that worked with him. He was always talking polotics even back then in the 80's and the 90's. But his loves were his wife and his son Jason. He loved guns and shooting. He liked kidding around too but was very serious when it came to his duties as an Officer. Jason and family I am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a great man. We are all going to miss him. God Bless you and your family in these times.
