Modesto, California - Dolores W. Silva, a daughter, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on August 19, 1933, in Sacramento, CA, to Violet and Harry Davis, Dolores lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.
Dolores was the beloved wife of Albert A. Silva, with whom she shared a lifetime of travel and exploration. Together, they visited numerous destinations, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Dolores was a devoted mother to her five children, who were the center of her world.
Her family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in her role as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always cherishing the time spent with her loved ones. Together Dolores and Al raised five children, Teresa M. Harrison (Randy), Phillip G. Silva (Wilma), John G. Silva (Michele), Gary G. Silva, and Anthony G. Silva (Brandi). She was predeceased by her spouse, Albert; and her daughter, Teresa. Dolores and Al's greatest treasure was always their family which includes seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
An avid golfer and tennis player, Dolores was known for her competitive spirit and love of the game. She was also a passionate bridge player, enjoying countless hours at the card table with friends. Dolores also enjoyed learning Farkle or as she referred to it "Sparkle" at The Park. Her outgoing nature and quirky sense of humor made her a joy to be around, and she was often the life of the party, bringing smiles and laughter to those around her.
Dolores was involved in numerous charities including Catholic Charities, Catholic Daughters, Sisters of the Cross, Central Catholic fundraising and in her early years, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School where her children attended.
Dolores's legacy is one of love, kindness, and a zest for life. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her adventurous spirit, and her unwavering dedication to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In honoring Dolores's life, her family invites those who knew her to celebrate her memory and the joy she brought into the world. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
