DOROTHY CATHERINE DEARBORN JULY 13, 1924 - JUNE 12, 2007 Dorothy "Dody" Dearborn, 82, passed away on June 12, 2007 in Modesto, CA surrounded by her loving family.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Dody was born on July 13, 1924 in Livermore, CA where she attended St. Michael's parochial elementary and Livermore High School.
On January 11, 1948, Dody married the late Leon "Ike" Dearborn at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Livermore.
She is survived by her beloved children, Deanne Bond and husband Doug of Tucson, AZ; Laurie Holfman and husband Daryl of Manteca, CA; Joe Dearborn and wife Michele of Scottsdale, AZ; Dave Dearborn and wife Debbie of Livermore, CA and Rose Helzer and husband Rick of Tracy, CA.
Her grandchildren include Suzanne and Matthew Bond of Tucson, AZ; Lindsay Groppetti of Manteca; Ashley and Brent Holfman of Manteca; Derek Dearborn of Scottsdale, AZ; Michael Dearborn of San Diego, CA; Ryan Dearborn of Livermore, CA and Ricky, Blake and Chase Helzer from Tracy, CA; Great grandchild, Austin Groppetti resides in Manteca, CA.
Dody, a 25-year employee of the Livermore School District where she worked in Food Services, was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Livermore. She was most passionate about her work with those confined to nursing homes. Along with providing Holy Communion, she befriended and comforted those that were lonely and in despair.
Loved and admired by all those that knew her, Dody's other great joys were her grandchildren, baking and gardening.
The community is invited to join the Celebration of her life at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1315 Lomitas Avenue, Livermore, CA 94550 on Wednesday, June 20 at 11:00 AM.
The visitation will be held at Callaghan Mortuary, 3833 East Avenue, Livermore, CA 94550 on Tuesday, June 19 from 4:00 PM - 8:30 PM with a Vigil service at 7:00 PM.
