Fran Levescy Obituary

Frances Billie Ann Levescy
Aug 24, 1937 - Sept 30, 2017
Fran Levescy of Modesto, joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Sept. 30, 2017. She passed peacefully at her son's home in Stockton Ca. due to recurrent breast cancer, she was 80 years old.
Fran was born in Frances Oklahoma to Herman and Vada Bandy. She spent her early years in Ada OK, until her mother relocated the family to Modesto CA in 1946. Fran graduated from Thomas Downey Highschool, and went on to be a proud member of Modesto Junior College's first LVN graduating class.
Fran met the love of her life, Tommy C. Levescy, while she was still a high school student, and he was visiting Modesto while on leave from the Army. They would go on to enjoy over 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2008.
Fran and Tommy made their home in Southern Ca. for many years, where Fran worked as an LVN at Artesia Hospital and later, for numerous opthamologists. Together, they enjoyed family camping trips to Wilderness Lake, RV road trips around the US, and the Elks Lodge, where Fran served a term as the president of the Ladies Elks.
They returned to Modesto in 1978, and owned and operated the Airport Market for a few years. During this time, Fran became a member of Lighthouse Temple Church, where she was involved in many activities and made life long friends. Fran loved to share her faith and love of the Lord with family, friends, and strangers alike. Later in life, she especially enjoyed her job as an in-home attendant, where her caring nature shined. Fran was a member of the Red Hat Ladies of McHenry Manor, as well as a weekly domino group, both of which she enjoyed immensely.
Fran will be dearly missed by her son, Tommy C. Levescy Jr., daughter-in-law Sherry Wylie Levescy, grandson Tommy Don Levescy, sisters Nadine (Cleo) Middleton, Janice (Clifford) Simmons, Wanda Francek, sister-in-law Pam Bandy, brothers Don (Irene) Bandy and Harley Bandy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Fran was preceded in death by her father Herman Bandy and step-mother Ima Jean Bandy, mother Vada Jackson and step-father Tyas Barber, sister Helen Matteson, brothers Haskell Bandy and Richard (Dick) Barber, and her only granddaughter, Tiffany Levescy.
A celebration of Fran's legacy of love will be held on Saturday Oct. 21, 2017 at the McHenry Mobile Manor Clubhouse, located at 4125 McHenry Ave Modesto. The potluck lunch will begin at 12 noon. All are invited to come and honor Fran with prayer, food, and fellowship.
