Gary Davis Obituary

GARY STEVEN DAVIS JUL 4, 1946 - FEB 27, 2011 Gary Steven Davis, a longtime resident of Atwater suddenly and unexpectedly went home to the Lord on February 27, 2011 at his home. Gary was born July 4, 1946 to Graham and Phyllis Davis in Sacramento, CA. He was a lifelong Civil Engineer and was a partner in GDR Engineering in Ceres for 26 years. Gary was known by all for his humor. He loved the fourth of July and he was infamous for his July 4th antics of jumping over fireworks. To the delight of everyone, Gary was truly the neighborhood fireworks daredevil. He had a true passion for guns and boating with his wife and friends. He was a member of the NRA. Gary will be remembered by his family as the most devoted and loving husband, father and definitely the world's best grampa.'' He was also the best dad to his 3 very spoiled cats. Gary is survived by his wife and best friend forever, Jeanetta Davis, his son Gregory Davis & daughter-in-law Tara Faughnan of Oakland, his daughter Kristi Mazuelos & son-in-law Neil of Turlock and his beloved granddaughters Lyla & Zefyra Mazuelos. Also surviving is his brother David Davis of Roy, Utah. The last words Gary spoke were to his wife, Jeanetta, when he told her You know how much I love you.'' Family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 4-8pm at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel, 1290 Winton Way, Atwater, CA. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 1pm at the Evergreen Chapel of Cherokee Memorial Park, Harney Lane @ Hwy 99 in Lodi, CA. Burial will follow at the Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Last Hope Cat Kingdom, 6660 Bailey Ave, Atwater, CA 95301. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Wilson Family Funeral Chapel, Atwater, CA. www.modbee.com/obituaries

My deepest sympathy to the Davis family for their loss. As an employee of the City of Livingston, I worked with Gary for several years when he served as the City Engineer. Gary was always kind, helpful, and had such a wonderful sense of humor. He was loved and will be missed by many.

God bless.
