I am writing on behalf of my mother, Nita Wooley. I worked with Glen at Camp Jack Hazzard from 1977-1978 as a resident cook. I know he stood as a lighthouse in your family. Strong and steady against the wind. I hope his light will continue to shine on in your memories. We were proud to know him. This is Sunda here- I had fond memories of Chuck as well as Camp Jack Hazzard.

My condolences to the Stabelfeld family. In the fall of 1985, Mr. Stabelfeld was my teacher at Downey. On the first day of class, I wore a baseball hat into classroom and he asked, "Are you a ball player?" I said yes and then he picked up a tennis ball and threw a perfect palm ball across the class! I had never seen a ball move like that and he taught me how to throw it.... We talked about his experiences in baseball, then one day he brought a huge scrapbook to class. He won 24 games in the Cal League and was Bob Gibson“s roommate in AAA Omaha. Mr. Stabelfeld was a no nonsense guy who was good to me and a lot of other kids. Thank you Mr. Stabelfeld!
