Modesto, California - Jimmie Dale Edwards, 84, of Modesto, California, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025. He was born on August 31, 1940, in Rosebud, Arkansas, to Robert and Veda Edwards. In 1946, Jimmie moved to Newman with his parents and siblings.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Edwards; his son Ryan Edwards (Michelle); daughter Nona Baptist (Gary); three grandchildren, Gentry, Brandon, and Brett; two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Ethan; two sisters, Mary Reeves and Zelda Martinez; and his brother, Robert Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Veda Edwards and his brother, Bobby Jo Edwards.
Jimmie was a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
