Joseph Bodeson Obituary

JOSEPH A. BODESON, JR. JULY 30, 1933 OCTOBER Joe was born at the family home in Ripon, CA, July 30 1933, and passed away at his Modesto residence at the age of 75 on October 14, 2008. Joe resided in Modesto for the last 39 years after living in Ripon for 34 years. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Bodeson, son Danny Bodeson, and his brothers, Vernon and Frank Miller. Joe is survived by his two sons, Joseph Bodeson III of South Dakota, Donald Bodeson of Modesto and his sister, Peggy Downey of Southern CA. Joe spent his earlier years as Egg Farmer/Rancher in the Ripon area and was very proud that he and his family were one of the early pioneers of the Ripon area, even having a street named after them. Joe was an avid sports fan and was able to attend the 1976 Summer Olympics in Canada. During Joe's High School years he was an active baseball and basketball player and was also very active in the future farmers of America and 4-H. After High School Joe coached Bel Passi baseball in Modesto and most of all Joe will be remembered as a loving husband, father and friend to many who will be greatly missed. Services for Joe will be held at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel, 111 S. Palm Ave. on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 1:00 PM followed by burial service at the Ripon Cemetery, 320 N. Stockton Ave. Ripon, CA. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356 in memory of Joe. Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel is in charge of services.www.modbee.com/obituaries
