I thought it was fun finding another Joe Ermer out there. I never met him we only shared a name. He seems like a good man who served his country like I did. God Bless Joe Ermer I dont know if we were related but we have a cool name.

Joe Ermer, we never met. But you knew my dad, Joe Dudash. You were both yeomen on the USS Elmore (APA-42) during WWII. You worked in that same small office aboard ship, typing up an endless stream of reports and logs necessary to keep the bureaucratic machinery of the Navy humming along. You were both young men, doing your duty to country while risking life and limb in a shooting war. Your ship dodged Japanese kamikazes and other threats. You both served honorably and became friends during those most difficult of times. Then you went home to your respective lives. I salute my dad for his service just as I salute you and the entire crew of the Elmore. In your honor, I have created a website to honor the crew of APA-42. You will never be forgotten.
