Julie Moore Obituary

Julie Diane Moore

September 21, 1967 - April 25, 2025

Oakdale, California - Julie Diane Moore, 57, passed away on April 25, 2025, in Oakdale, California.

Born on September 21, 1967, Julie was a proud graduate of Madera High School and went on to earn both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Fresno State University. She dedicated her professional life to education, beginning as a teacher and counselor in the Clovis Unified School District. Her passion for helping others led her to serve as an administrator with Modesto City Schools and the Stanislaus County Office of Education, where she oversaw the Come Back Kids (CBK) adult education program.

Julie's greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Mike Moore, her cherished son Max Moorewhom she considered her proudest accomplishmentand her devoted parents Warren and Rosemary Rodefer. Her love for Max was boundless; every birthday and holiday was thoughtfully planned to create lasting memories for him.

A lifelong animal lover, Julie had a special place in her heart for every stray she encountered, offering them the same affection she gave to her own beloved pets. She was also an avid San Francisco Giants fan, faithfully cheering on her team whether at the ballpark or from home. Time spent at the ocean and Lake Tahoe brought her peace and joy.

Julie held firmly to her Catholic faith throughout her life. She touched countless lives with her strength, warmth, and unwavering supportespecially among fellow cancer patients, whom she inspired with grace and resilience.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Don and Hallie Cook and William and Malinda Rodefer; uncle Robert Jennings; aunts Shirley Jennings, Joan Dallmer, and Hazel Bettencourt; and uncle Donnie Cook.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held in Julie's honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Rescue, or the Giants Community Fund.

Her memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

Julie was one of the first people on Instagram to reach out to me after my cancer diagnosis. She was kind beyond measure and helped me face mortality. Her posts of her beloved pets, and more recently of the cats she was in the process of saving, were uplifting, and she always had kind words, spoke out against everything that is wrong with this world right now, she spoke the truth whether it was going to be well received or not. She was the BEST of us, and she will be missed by all of her friends who appreciated her candor and honesty about life. She was truly a blessing in my life. Prayers for her son and husband as they navigate these waters without her.

This makes me so sad. Julie was such a nice person. I met her at SCOE when she started there. She was always so positive with her struggle with cancer. God received another angel in heaven way too soon.

I´m so very sad to read this. I loved working with Julie; she was an excellent friend and collaborator and we shared heartbreak as well. She overcame so much in her life and it was very obvious how much she loved her family and pets.

Julie's love for Max had no bounds. I will never forget his birthday parties that she made so special and our family gatherings. She even convinced me to the Turkey Trot with her and Max- one of my favorite memories!
